London born and raised, globe trotting music selector: tastemaker and influencer Marcia Carr, also known as Marcia DaVinylMC has been contributing to the UK dance music scene over four decades already.

She’s a stalwart, an aficionado, and a woman who’s definitely not content with sitting still.  

Marcia is the founder of Girlz B Like - an umbrella collective of women DJ's who only spin vinyl records - 2025 marks its tenth anniversary.  Marcia is also the producer of the streaming series 2 Decks And A Mixer + 2DAAM The Roadshow, and made her mark as part of the Ladyz™ (LadyBugz) in the noughties.

With her pedigree of experience extended to the world of radio many of her industry peers are in the know of Marcia's background.  She's appeared on BBC R1, BBC 6 Music, Balamii radio, 1BTN, Soho radio plus other stations as a guest - she has held lengthy residencies on Rinse FM, Mi-Soul, and currently presents the ¡Take the Con! show on theboatpod.com.  

Alongside club spots DJ'ing at London's Jazz Cafe, The Cause, Soho House and Oslo, Marcia is blessed to be highly in demand as an international DJ.  Whether Marcia is requested to deliver sets of deeper House to Chicago jackin', uplifting gospel dance or Afro house.  Even to spin four hours plus of pure vinyl rhythms that range from Boogie, jazz dance, broken beat, old school r & b, Afro beats, Detroit techno, Reggae, hip hop, drum & bass, Motown classics or handling Pop requests - it's all part of the fun.  Being consistent to weave together an eclectic plethora of sounds has never been a statement of fashion or about following fads as a DJ.  

For Marcia, presenting a story - a musical journey that generates good feelings of nostalgia, sparking up joy, which evoke memories, or moments that a special tune may have for the individual listener, especially the dancers out there - that is always the goal.  I want to always unleash those party vibes where ever the space, what ever the size of the crowd, uplifting an audience - depositing seeds of love, leaving them with good vibes.
